Daniel Woodbury

I’m a surprise baby who was sent to prep school, partially because of the drug scene at my local High School, but also, I think, to preserve my parents’ sanity. After a so-so semester at NYU, my folks discovered and suggested Marlboro. I had an August admissions interview with Tim Little, was accepted, and it was a perfect fit.

What stands out to me about Marlboro is community and cooperation. While there, I ran the Grazers (vegetarian eating club), worked on the Thursday Review, washed dishes with Kyle Radigan for work, and was business manager for Geoff Brown’s theater company. I did a Plan on the history and effects of the modern American corporation. After graduating, I was an Alumni Council member for several years.

I will bring to the Council an open mind and a desire to develop an organization that supports Marlboro Alums. Not sure what that support should be, but educational opportunities seem to be a good idea, as well as facilitating networking and getting together, I think the Council can also serve as liaison/advocates with Emerson as pertains to transcripts, etc.

As for the next three years, I would like to see a time and place where Alums could get together, a structure to facilitate networking among Alums, and perhaps fundraising activities for the Council.
