Candidate Profile – 2023 Alumni Council Election

Hanna Clutterbuck-Cook, 2002

Hanna Clutterbuck-Cook

Marlboro was for me, as for so many of us, a formative experience; while I've gone on to education at other institutions and I don't currently work in the field of my degree, the skills and confidence I gained at Marlboro are something I draw on every day. I would like to serve on the council to see the experience of Marlboro preserved and, as far as possible, extended: the community, the sense of belonging, and the sense of responsibility and involvement in a positive, productive organization. I’ve worked for multiple non-profit organizations since I moved to Boston in 2005 and taken on both leadership and team roles. As a trained archivist and historian, I am always concerned to see that workflows are in place for recordkeeping. With an organization as large and complex as the Council which has an equally large and complex audience, I feel this is particularly important. If possible, I'd like to see us ready to start soliciting content from all Marlboro-ites for presentation and, if possible, preservation. I think this would be a good time for the Council to take a moment to reflect on its existence so far and decide on what is and what is not working: what should we try again and what is simply not worth our time.
