We hope that you are having a great summer!

We were thrilled to see so many of you at our first virtual gathering on April 30th! We shared the results of the survey and answered lots of questions that were submitted in advance. Naively, we thought we would be done in 30 minutes and would have lots of social time, but those two items filled the allotted hour. Lesson learned: Next time we will allow for more time so that there is ample time for social connection. Stay tuned for a future event!

For those who could not make it, we recorded the presentation portion of the event. Our hopes for automatic captioning from Zoom were not fulfilled, so captions aren’t available on the video, but we are working on a written transcript of the recording which we will make available. We also have documented the answers to the questions that were submitted in advance, so association members can get quick answers to FAQs on the MCAA website.

As required by our interim Bylaws, we have a new MCAC Moderator - Pamela Nye! Thanks to Melanie who led our first year with grace, poise, and grit, and we are thrilled to welcome Pam into this leadership role.

Many of you have asked about making financial donations to the Association. During the virtual gathering we announced that all the ducks are in a row and supporting the MCAA is now possible via the donation page on our website. Right now, donations are being used to build the infrastructure of association- paying for the website, the email tools, the costs related to gaining our 501c3 status, etc.

As we mentioned in our online gathering, we are getting close to finishing a draft of bylaws for governing the association, which we will ask all of you to ratify by vote in late fall when we do elections. The MCAC governance committee seeks a volunteer to review this draft of the proposed bylaws. Are you an experienced non-profit law attorney? Get in touch!
